Pinteresting Strategies is a manual pinning course for bloggers, business owners, and anyone who wants to learn how to effectively use Pinterest without a scheduling tool. In this Pinteresting Strategies review, you’ll learn what topics the course covers, who it’s best for, and how it worked for me!
Update 2021: Pinteresing Strategies is now Pinteresting Strategies 2.0! The new version is a bundle that includes the original Pinteresting Strategies course as well as Pin Title Traffic Hacks, Pin Design Rules to Break, The Pinterest Niche Site Deep Dive 2021, and “Do You Get Long Clicks? ” It also includes 15 pin templates. The new price for the full bundle is $97.
When I first started blogging, I took every free Pinterest course I could get my hands on. I attended virtual summits, expert tutorials, and live sessions at conferences. But I never sat down and took a paid Pinterest course until I started reading about Pinteresting Strategies.
Halfway through 2020, I noticed that I was getting drastically fewer click-throughs to my blog posts from Pinterest. The strategies I’d been using in the past weren’t working anymore, so it was time to shake things up.
Before, I would describe my Pinterest strategy as “throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks.” I would schedule approximately one billion pins on Tailwind each month, do some basic keyword research, and hope for the best. When that stopped working, I started researching the best Pinterest courses in hopes of reviving my floundering account.
To be totally honest, I wasn’t sure that I’d learn anything new from any Pinterest courses. I considered myself an advanced user and I felt like I knew most of the tricks out there. I assumed that people who were wildly successful on Pinterest just had a bit of luck.
But I’m happy to report that I did learn new strategies and when I implemented them, I finally saw a jump in page views from Pinterest! I also really enjoyed feeling more in control of my account by using a manual strategy instead of a scheduler.
In this post, I’ll share more about what to expect in the Pinteresting Strategies course to help you decide if it’s the right fit for you too.

Why Use Pinterest?
Pinterest is a visual search engine. People come to the platform for inspiration or to search for a particular topic. If Pinterest decides your content is the best fit for a search term, it will display your post higher in the results. This means you could be discovered by tons of new readers who are looking for your specific expertise.
In my experience, Pinterest converts significantly better than Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for my travel blog content.
Because Pinterest works more like a search engine than a social media platform, a Pinterest pin can send you traffic long into the future. I still get clicks from pins I created years ago, so for me, using Pinterest is a better time investment.
Overall, Pinterest is a great way to send free, evergreen traffic to your website or blog.
About Pinteresting Strategies
Pinteresting Strategies is a manual pinning course by blogger Carly Campbell. She created the course after experimenting with Pinterest for her blog and finally achieving incredible results using a few simple techniques.
While many successful Pinterest users rely on third-party scheduling tools like Tailwind, Carly teaches a method that can be done without paying extra for a scheduler.
In Pinteresting Strategies, Carly makes it clear that there is no one “secret trick” to Pinterest. But once you understand how the platform really works, there are lots of simple improvements that you can make that can lead to huge results.
What is a Manual Pinning Strategy?
A manual pinning strategy simply means that you’ll upload your pins to Pinterest in real-time. Instead of planning out your content days or weeks in advance using a scheduling tool, you’ll hop on Pinterest directly when it’s time to share a new post, video, or product.
Pinteresting Strategies Course Outline
The Pinteresting Strategies course is made up of 9 modules.
- Welcome: Current Pinterest updates and news
- First Things First: Homework to set you up for success
- Getting Started: Learn how Pinterest works and how to set up your profile
- How Pinterest and Pinterest users see your pins
- Pinterest SEO
- Group Boards
- Manual Pinning Strategy: Includes tips for established accounts and new accounts
- FAQ and Bonus Lessons: Story pins, video pins, analytics, and advanced strategies
- Free Pin Templates
In the first section, you’ll get to know the course creator Carly and read introductory Pinterest information. This is also where Carly will post updates to the course. If you enroll in Pinteresting Strategies, you’ll keep getting updates as Pinterest changes over time.
The next section covers some behind-the-scenes fundamentals that ensure your website is optimized for Pinterest.
Then, you’ll move into the third section which is a deep dive into how Pinterest actually works. This was pretty mind-blowing for me, and I had been using the platform for ages! I was able to totally refresh my profile and my boards. Truth be told, I was pretty shocked by how un-optimized my account had been previously.
The next two modules cover popular Pinterest niches and how Pinterest interacts with uploaded content. You’ll learn some great Pinterest SEO tips as well!
Next, Carly talks about group boards, how they’ve changed, and how to use them now.
Then, you’ll get into the meat and potatoes of this course. Once your account is set up correctly, you’ll work through the step-by-step manual Pinterest strategy that has worked for so many, myself included.
There are lessons about manual pinning for established accounts as well as manual pinning for totally new accounts. I actually use both of these strategies, the former for this blog and the latter for my new niche site.
The last module includes FAQ information and some bonus content about video pins, story pins, and advanced Pinterest strategies. Carly also includes some free Pinterest pin templates that you can use to kick start your creativity. After finishing the course, I’m sure you’ll want to get started right away.
All in all, the course took only a few hours to work through and I appreciated how actionable it was. I was able to make changes to my existing account straight away and when I launched a new niche site, I followed her Pinterest instructions to the letter.
Pinteresting Strategies Review: Pros and Cons
No Pinterest course will be perfect for every single person, so in this section of this Pinteresting Strategies review, we’ll cover the pros and cons.
Pinteresting Strategies Pros
There are a lot of things to love about this Pinterest course. After finishing the course I felt like I had a much better understanding of how the platform worked on a fundamental level. Pinterest made sense and I felt confident that I could implement Carly’s manual pinning method intelligently.
I also liked how the Pinteresting Strategies course was very affordable compared to other Pinterest courses. It’s currently listed for just $97. For that price, you get the entire course, ongoing updates, and even several free pin templates for Canva and Pic Monkey.
The Pinteresting Strategies course is also great for bloggers on a budget because you’ll be able to do everything in the course without spending more money on scheduling tools.
- Affordable price point
- You’ll learn manual strategies that don’t require additional software purchases
- Understand how Pinterest works behind the scenes
- Suitable for beginner, intermediate, and advanced Pinterest users (I learned something new after years of pinning!)
- Ongoing updates as the platform changes
- Includes free pin templates for Canva and Pic Monkey
Pinteresting Strategies Cons
For this price point, I don’t see any real cons to the Pinteresting Strategies course. The only thing you’ll need to consider is whether you want to invest the time in Pinterest as a platform. The information in this course isn’t a “set it and forget it” strategy. To see results, you’ll likely need to spend time each day creating pins and manually pinning with a strategy in mind.
When I used scheduling tools in the past, I loved how I could set up my entire month of Pinterest content in one afternoon. With manual pinning, Pinterest is now something I do every day or several times a week. It was an adjustment, but I’m used to it now and it’s worth the time for me.
In the past, it was common to read about people having overnight success on Pinterest, but the platform has changed since then. Now, many users are seeing results months after implementing good pinning strategies. While the manual pinning strategies Carly teaches aren’t complicated, they will take time to implement.
Pinteresting Strategies Results
Since my Pinterest traffic nosedived in mid-2020, I stopped using schedulers altogether and focused on manual pinning only. I wanted to give Carly’s Pinteresting Strategies method a try and I also wanted to learn more about how Pinterest worked because #nerdbloggerhobbies.
I’m happy to report that after months of being in a Pinterest dry spell, I’m finally starting to see more clickthroughs again!
It’s impossible to stay exactly what caused my traffic to drop and what caused it to eventually come back, but I plan to keep manual pinning at the center of my Pinterest game moving forward. I might reintroduce scheduled pinning sometime in the future (and the course even includes a module about how to use schedulers in conjunction with manual pinning), but for now, I’m happy doing it by hand.
Funny enough, I’ve actually really enjoyed manual pinning and it hasn’t been as time-consuming as I thought it would be. If you’re curious and want to give it a try too, Pinteresting Strategies is a great place to start.
